Danny Graduates from University of South Carolina

Irmo, SC — NASCAR Nationwide driver Danny Efland earned his engineering degree on Monday from the University of South Carolina. Now Ryan Newman is not the only engineer/driver in NASCAR! “It has been a real challenge,” said Danny, “I have raced an average of 10 times a year and still attended school full time. At times I have had to fly home between races such as happened between California and Las Vegas last year, to attend 3 days of class while the team stayed out west. I hope now that racing will become full time.

Danny wishes to thank his professors and the staff at USC for cooperating on missed assignments and exam makeups due to racing conflicts.

Danny continued, “As racing becomes more sophisticated I have seen advantages engineering has given me in understanding and communicating with crew chiefs and race engineers. I hope to use this degree to further my ambitions towards a life long racing career.”
