Disappointing Day at Charlotte Results in 35th
Irmo, SC — Well, we did not have the run that we desired in the History 300 Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. The car was one of Johnny Davis Motor Sports machines and we knew it had run very well in the past. This year’s program has Danny sharing the #4 with JDM. Danny ran his own cars at Daytona, Talledaga, and Darlington. In other selected races Danny drives one of JDM’s cars. This was one of those weekends.
After working with the car to make it comfortable Danny and Johnny Davis had high hopes for the TradeBank.com sponsored Chevy Impala. Sometimes high hopes can fade quickly. On the parade laps Danny reported that he had no brakes. After lengthy repairs in the garage, Danny began his race about 20 laps down.
At the half way point the brakes failed again. Although the car could be raced without brakes, it would have been dangerous and pit stops would have been impossible. The decision was made to park the car for the day.
The 35th place finish knocked a disappointed Danny Efland and Johnny Davis down in the NASCAR Nationwide points standings. Both Danny and Johnny agreed that the future will be brighter.
