CHARLOTTE, NC :: Friday night Danny Efland brought home the Mark Beaver, Tracy Lowe owned Chevy Silverado Truck in 20th place in the Campers World NC Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The effort sponsored by Eurasia Resorts International and Advanced Electronic Services was the second NASCAR Truck race this year for Danny, both in Make Motorsports Trucks. ” This is a small family owned team out of Shelby North Carolina” said Danny, “but they really work hard. One of them spots while others crew chief and still others provide food for the crew. It reminds me of our Late Model days where most operations were family deals. It’s great to run for people that just push to do the best with the equipment they have and want to race, not just ride around for a paycheck. It puts the fun back in the sport.”

The Eurasia Resorts Silverado started from the 34th position but rapidly moved up with the help of Brad Parrott calling the shots. Brad, a very experienced NASCAR crew chief volunteered his help and immediately went to work making the Truck better. A short spin through the grass while avoiding another Truck that had crashed was the big excitement of the night and provided great TV coverage. Danny finally brought the undamaged Truck home in the top 20 for only the Teams 2nd time.

Danny will fly to Las Vegas on Sunday to meet the Eurasia Resorts people who are opening a unique resort hotel and shopping facility featuring stores from Europe and Asia that have not previously had an American presence.

Danny Races in Darlington Nationwide Race

IRMO, SC :: Danny competed in the NASCAR Nationwide race at Darlington Friday bringing home a respectable 27 th place finish. In his first Nationwide race since parting ways with Johnny Davis Motorsports, Danny drove the #74 car for long time competitor, Mike Harmon. The objective was to finish the race and lock the car into the guaranteed starting spot program….mission accomplished.

Most of practice was missed after a meeting with the infamous “Lady in Black” wall on the 2nd lap out when the brakes failed, gaining a very early “Darlington Strip”. The crew worked diligently to repair the car and get it back out for a few laps but most real tuning would have to wait for the pit stops during the race. A lack of valuable practice time led to a 38th place qualifying time but Danny and Mike knew that was ok and they knew what to do.

Pit stops were the order of the day to adjust on the car. Even so the car was very competitive and could definitely maintain pace until a green flag pit stop after halfway which did not go well put the car 3 laps down where it remained. A 27th place finish was enough to accomplish the pre-race team goals. Danny had aspired to a higher finish but accepted the effort on his favorite track. Emerging from the car he said, “that was the most fun I ever had in a race car, you must race the track and not your fellow competitors here but once you get in the rhythm it is over before you are ready. A special thanks to Mike Harmon and his crew and to Eurasia Entertainment and The Residence at Marina Bay in my home town.”

“My heart and prayers go out to our injured fans in Daytona,” Stated Danny Efland after Saturday’s Nationwide race. He continued, “the drivers and crews know that this can be a dangerous sport but NASCAR works constantly to improve our safety. The tracks work to protect our fans but when things go wrong as they did Saturday, it brings a realization to all of us that we must learn from what happens, especially in protecting our fans who are there to have a good time and do not deserve to be at risk. I wish a speedy recovery to each of them.”

“My Flex Seal Camaro from Johnny Davis Motorsports was an excellent car that kept me in the lead pack all day,” said Danny, “we had worked on drafting and the air so we were prepared to run with the other cars in the tight 25 car packs. With a conservative race plan I did not intend to really race until the last quarter of the event. Crew chief, Dave Smith and his men did a perfect job with pit strategy and the spotter kept me out of trouble.

When it was time to go we went. Everything worked out until with about 5 laps to go several cars tangled on the top of the track. I got down on the apron and all seemed fine until a spinning Kasey Kahne bounced off the outer wall and came down, collecting me. I finished 4 laps down in 25th place. Even so, I am very encouraged for this season. I led my first lap in a NASCAR race and have the great people at Flex Seal supporting many of the races this year.

I am looking forward to Bristol. See you at the races.”

About Danny Efland

During 2007, Danny had the opportunity to start 3 races in the NASCAR Busch (now Nationwide) series. He out-qualified the team’s regular driver all three times in the back-up car but only attempted the entire race one time. 2011 saw Danny team up with Go Green Racing and run a handful of races throughout the 2011 season. Danny posted his career best finish at Darlington Raceway in May with a 16th place finish. Three weeks later, he backed it up with a 19th place run at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Danny closed out the 2011 season with Go Green Racing in July at the Nashville Superspeedway, finishing 26th.

In 2012, Danny finished both Nationwide Daytona races in 13th position. He also picked up a strong finish at Talladega in 16th position. 14th place finish in Kansas

Danny efland racing

Danny Efland in the #4 Tradebank car

After starting a dismal 37th, Danny Efland took the #4 Tradebank across the finish line in 14th place in the Kansas Lottery 300. Danny was holding steady in 24th position with forty laps to go and decided to make his move. Strategy and intelligent driving moved him up to 14th place by the last lap.

For an underfunded team like ours, I will consider 14th place a victory and a well deserved one. Our guys work hard weekend and week out. Look for the #4 Tradebank Chevy to build on this finish with more great races this season
