The Danny Efland Racing Team had looked forward to racing in Charlotte for the last several months.  New paint was the outside cover to a two week re-build project of the entire car.

With C3i Sports and M & W Towing as the main sponsors for the race and Danny’s experience on Charlotte the chances for the best run of the year looked good.

Practice went well and Danny put the car in a very respectable 27th spot during qualifying.  The race did not go as well.   Immediately Danny reported the car was tight.  Crew chief Micah Horton told him to hang on until a caution and he would try to fix it.  The caution was a wreck just in front of Danny and a near miss on his part!  The car did not respond to anything done to it and remained as Danny said, “The tightest race car I have ever driven.  I did learn more about the top grove up against the wall as that was the only place I could run.  I was really glad, for the first time in my career, when the race was over.  I feel like we will find something broken on the car like maybe a shock.”

Danny finished 31st – not nearly as high as had been hoped – but that’s racing!

The next race for the team will be Daytona on July 2nd with the Nationwide New Car.  Now all attention must be focused there where the team expects to get back on track.

See you at the races!
